Valley Direct Overview
Valley Direct was founded in 1927 as the Passaic Park Trust Company. Through a series of mergers and acquisitions, it became Valley National Bank in 1976. Valley National Bank was shorted to Valley and is currently the largest bank headquartered in New Jersey. Valley Direct is the online division of this bank, created in 2020.
Valley Direct offers high-yield savings accounts and a few online-only CDs. These are available to anyone in the country as long as you are over 18, have an email address, a valid I.D., and your primary bank’s username and password to fund the account.
Online CDs are available in terms of 12 months or 24 months with a minimum $500 opening deposit. Valley Direct also offers a 36-month variable CD. This CD pays interest based on the Federal Funds Rate, paying 0.1% above that rate.
Valley Direct customer service can be reached by phone or email. The bank is also on Facebook and Instagram and has a mobile app.
